James Ottewell (Chair), David du Celliee Muller, James Richardson, Alan Passmore, Tracy Pepper, Dougal Bulger, Samantha Killian

Following a successful nationwide advertising campaign trustees are delighted to welcome three new trustees, Tracy Pepper, Dougal Bulger and Samantha Killian.  Each add to the expertise and diversity of the board enabling it to better reflect the population and needs of children and young people at the school.  The aim of the board is to lead the school to realise its aspiration of becoming a good then outstanding provider and centre of excellence in deaf education.

Trustees are delighted with the efforts of the school in achieving a rating of Good for its residential provision together with progress made in mirroring this in its educational provision.  Successful partnership working with placing authorities, children and young people, parents, carers and wider stakeholders is a key continuing focus.  A fair fee basis underpinned by a sound matrix of need complemented by substantial fundraising and grant activities are making significant, positive contributions to pupil experience and demonstrating value for money.

News about the role and work of Trustees is published each year in annual reports which are public documents available for anyone to see.  If you would like to know more about us and the school’s progress please visit,
