Hopes and Aspirations
Here are some testimonials from past students of RSDD, giving some insight into what they are doing with their lives now; and what other potential students could look to do.
In his spare time Stephen discovered Deafinitely Youth Theatre in London and he was hooked. Stephen’s experience at Deafinitely Youth Theatre got him really interested in studying Performing Arts at College. In 2015 he started Level 1 Performing Arts and Art at Wakefield College. This meant a commute every day from Doncaster to Wakefield on the train. The following year Performing Arts was offered at Level 1 as a single qualification which Stephen motored through and so on to Level 2 in 2017 – the first deaf student the college had ever had on this programme. Not only has he managed the course despite being the only deaf student he has also been producing and directing and was awarded ‘Student of the Year’ in Performing Arts earlier this year.
Well done to James who was a winner in the Apprenticeship Awards 2015. 16,000 apprentices were entered and he was one of the 15 finalists. James was in our Secondary and Post 16 Departments and left RSDD in 2011. We are all very proud of his achievements.
